The Cat & the Machine

This here is a scene rendered in Marmoset Toolbag with low-poly assets that i made last month ( me and the rest of the environment art team at Ubi decided to make our own sci-fi art challenge ) I immensely enjoyed working on this , and figuring out how to do the fur on the damned cat :D

once i had all the assets in Marmoset i couldn't resist and made some "huge alien cat walking through space craft "shots

for the terrain i made some shapes inside Substance Designer , loaded the height map in World Machine and combined it with some Macros to get some interesting alien terrain look

the "light "version of the cat is now definitely my favorite

the fur was definitely a challenge -at first, I was going old-school with placing alpha planes all over the body, but then i decided to use displacement that receives the color patterns I paint on the albedo texture

for the big tubes i used the awesome Zbrush IMM SCI FI Brush Set but the rest of the padding i did in Marvelous Designer .The Main body was done with Project Primitives in Zbrush, the smaller details - in Blender using
 the HardOps plugin
